SKETCHES

Designing within the PORSCHE design language

Initially, I tried to visually understand the design style of Porsche by exploring different products through sketches. I started out with desk/light fixtures.

Since I needed to make a physical model of my product, these light fixtures were a bit too complicated so I decided to do a smaller and simpler product: a computer mouse

Initial flaws in design

The most crucial design error was making the curve towards the front, rather than the back, fitting the palm of a hand less comfortably

The design goal for the cut out was to resemble the Porsche 718, although this would cause discomfort

Foam Modeling

Exploring an overall exterior form using blue foam was helped by the use of sanding, machines, and tools.

Applying thin sheets of foam to a rough edge helped make the model appear smoother.
